FAQ

  • Why Do I Have to Pre-order Whole Pies a Minimum of 24-Hours in Advance?

We make each pie by hand from scratch, and pies need time to prepare, bake and rest. Therefore, we ask that all To-Go pie orders are made a minimum of 24-hours in advance.
NOTE: For Thanksgiving season, we kindly ask that you order at least 48-hours in advance due to the high volume of orders we receive at that time.

  • Can I Walk in to the Shop and Get a Whole Pie To-Go?

Typically, no. We make whole pies to-go as a special order. BUT… we do offer our 8-Piece Variety Box that you can order on walk-in at either location. Choose any combination of 8 slices from the case, and we’ll box it up for you on the spot like a whole pie. You can also walk in and purchase Take & Bake Pies, our savory meat & veggie pies, quiches, or apple pies that are perfect for baking at home.

  • How Many Servings Does a Whole Pie To-Go Have?

As a general rule, we say that each sweet pie as 8 servings, for a standard American-style slice’o’pie. However, some pies can be cut into smaller slices, allowing for up to 10 slices.

  • I Ordered a Pie. How Do I Store It?

We recommend that you eat your pie within the first 48 hours, however, pies can be stored in the fridge up to 3-4 days (if it lasts that long!)
Sky High Lemon Meringue Pie is best eaten within the first 24 hours, as prolonged refrigeration can lead to excess moisture in the meringue.

Fruit pies: Pies with apples or berries do not need to be refrigerated the first 24 hours. After that, store in the refrigerator for extended freshness.
Cream Pies, Custard Pies, Meringue Pies: Store in refrigerator.

  • Can I Re-Heat a Pie?

Not all pies can be re-heated or re-baked, as several are pies that are meant to be chilled. However, you re-heat an Apple, Berry, or Cherry pie, for a delicious warm-out-of-the-oven experience. Simply place the pie on a baking tray and place in a preheated oven set to 180 C (circulated air), or 200 C (normal heat). Bake for about 20 minutes.

  • I Ordered Take & Bake Frozen Pies. How Do I Bake Them?

Individually-Sized Meat & Veggie Savory Pies: Preheat oven to 200 C & place frozen pie in its pan on a baking tray. Bake pie for 55-60 min., or until crust is deep golden brown & filling is bubbling & hot.

Quiche: Preheat oven to 180 C & place frozen quiche in its pan on a baking tray. Bake pie for 55-60 min., or until crust is golden brown & the egg filling is firm in the center. If the edges are browning too quickly, gently cover with foil and continue to bake until the center is firm.

Apple Cinnamon Pies: Preheat oven to 185 C. Remove plastic & place frozen pie in its pan on a baking tray. Bake the pie for 65-75 min., or until crust is golden brown & filling is bubbling & hot.

    Baking Tips:
    · If top crust is browning too soon, cover with aluminum foil & continue to bake.
    · To check if your pie is baked through, insert a knife in the center. If the knife is hot to the touch, your pie is ready.
    · Apple pies may need extra bake time, and should rest 1-2 hours before cutting into.
